Motorhome Servicing at Whittams
Ensuring your motorhome operates correctly and avoiding untimely failures, both on the habitation and mechanical sides, is crucial for your safety. At Whittams, our habitation service includes Gas Safety and Carbon Monoxide checks. To maintain manufacturer warranties, annual habitation services are essential. Failure to do so will invalidate your vehicle's habitation warranty, which typically lasts 3 years for new UK-built motorhomes and up to 10 years for water ingress. The mechanical warranty on a UK-built motorhome is usually 3 years, so your vehicle should at least be serviced by the end of year 2.

Habitation Checks & Certification
There are two distinct types of motorhome servicing. Habitation servicing should be carried out annually on the 'home' element of your vehicle and is designed to check that the gas, electric, water systems and appliances are running safely and smoothly and in the unlikely event of damp entering your motorhome it is detected as soon as possible.

General Servicing & Maintenance
Mechanical servicing is carried out on the chassis and engine of your motorhome and depending on mileage undertaken should be carried out at least every two years - or at 30k mileage intervals if sooner. We also recommend that an oil and filter change is carried out in the years between full servicing and in line with vehicle manufacturers recommendations, due to the relatively low number of miles covered.
A mechanical vehicle health check is undertaken free of charge when an oil and filter change is carried out.

As well as offering Habitation and Mechanical Servicing we can undertake body repairs and fit a comprehensive range of motorhome accessories such as awnings, alarms and tracking devices, rear-view cameras, bike racks, TV/aerial/satellite, air conditioning and Gaslow systems.
